How Deep Is Your Beauty.

Writer's picture: Sylvia M.Sylvia M.

I am dark but beautiful, O women of Jerusalem -dark as the tents of Kedar, dark as the curtains of Solomon's tents. Don't stare at me because I am dark - the sun has darkened my skin. My brothers were angry with me, they forced me to care for their vineyards, so I couldn't care for myself- my own vineyard.

Song of Songs 1:5-6 NLV

You ever found yourself apologizing for your appearance? You know. You have a zoom call or your recording a video on Youtube and so what you forget to put on your makeup or your hair is not fixed how you want it. This scripture talks about a girl who although she is beautiful a sight to see, her skin chocolate sun kissed by the sun, yet their lies insecurities. Beauty is delicate its soft, it's not loud, it's doing the least without the doing the most. It's Simple. Lets not get caught in comparing our looks to someone else. We are beautifully and wonderfully made in our heavenly fathers image. I am all for self care but if we make our soul -care important our light, our beauty will shine regardless. Lets challenge ourselves to look deeper in mirror and affirm ourselves instead of judging ourselves.

What I like to say to myself " I am aging like fine wine Baby!!!"
