It isn't my responsibility to judge outsiders, but it certainly is your responsibility to judge those inside the church who are sinning. God will judge those the outside; but as the scriptures say " You must remove the evil person among you."
1 Corinthians 5:12-13 NLV
Paul was giving specific instructions for the Corinthians Church, on how they should live as believers. You see it's different when you're non believer and have not been exposed to decrees God has set fourth. But when you are a believer ( accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior) there is calling; a lifestyle we must live. It reminds me how when you were a kid and your mother tells you to come home before the sun goes down. But you disobey and question what your mother told you, because your friends don't follow the same rules. So you get in trouble for not following your mothers rules. That is what this scripture tells us in practical terms, in mommas voice" I don't care what your friends do, It's what I told you to do." How comforting it is to know how much God truly loves and cares for his children. We must follow through with the orders and decrees on our lives. The blood that was shed on the cross was not meant for us as believers to live any type of way. So, the next time you find yourself doing things that are out of alignment with the word of God, I pray the holy spirit will put a check in your heart to live right and make better decisions.
We are freed from sin... lets act accordingly....
