To Eat the Chicken or Not?

It's been almost 10 years since I stopped eating land animal meat flesh. And I will tell you it has been a fantastic journey. I used to have a food journal where I documented all the foods I would eat daily. This helped me to figure out the foods I would consume and what was I going through emotionally. You know many of us are emotionally eaters. But anyhow, during this time I was also working out and just wanted to be in the best shape especially in my 20's.

During this process I remember it was one week on my journey where my body felt so light weight and I had so much energy. I went back into my journal realizing I didn't consume meat. This inspired me to continue for a whole year I became a "vegetarian." The second year I incorporated seafood into my new lifestyle which is called a "pesci-tarian." Most of the time I was plant based but if I wanted fish or shrimp I was going to eat it. I am one those people who abhor labels. I always say go with how your body feels, I admit I used to be one of those people who judged others for eating meat. I realized that doesn't help it only hinders those to follow that lifestyle. Everyone has a choice to make as it pertains to me I did something I always wanted to do..

Almost 10 years later with my recent moved to the Motherland ( MAMA Africa) I finally tried chicken for the first time in years!!!! And let me tell you I tried fried chicken from the KFC in Kigali and it was so good!!! Now, back in the states I can't recall how the chicken taste but I know it wasn't fresh. Let me tell the chicken was so good I even licked the my fingers. I absolutely have no regrets in trying the chicken. Now the question of the day would be Sylvia so are you going start eating meat again? I am not sure but I will say I am at this point in my life where If my body is saying try the chicken I am going to try it. But my love will always be for fruits and vegetables. Moderation is always key quite frankly the food in Africa is way better and fresh with no weird hormones and GMOs pumped in the food.

I say all this to say as a woman constantly evolving and moving to the beat of her own drum always choose what works for thyself.
