The lord directs our steps, so why to try to understand everything along the way?

Just imagine if our heavenly Father revealed everything he has planned for your lives; the average person would not be able to handle it. Whether the good, or what we see as "bad." And lets be honest if he showed and gave it all to you all in one lump sum, would you have the desire to seek his face? More than likely No. Making a decision to walk with Christ is one of the best decisions you can make in your life. It also requires to trust him with every step and move we make in this realm. This requires practicing patience and being obedient. So the next to you feel discouraged or lost in your life path, seek God for wisdom in guiding your decisions.
